🚌 Korean Bus Types Explained 🇰🇷
Korean buses can look confusing at first because there are several types, each with a different color and purpose. Here's every type you'll see, made simple.
🚍 The Bus Types
🏙️ 시내버스
(si-nae beo-seu)
— City bus
The most common bus, running routes within a city. This is what you'll use most day to day.
🏘️ 마을버스
(ma-eul beo-seu)
— Neighborhood (village) bus
Smaller buses that cover short local routes and hilly areas, often connecting to subway stations.
🌆 광역버스
(gwang-yeok beo-seu)
— Express (metropolitan) bus
Connects a city with nearby cities — for example Seoul and the surrounding Gyeonggi area. Usually has seats for longer rides.
🛣️ 시외버스
(si-oe beo-seu)
— Intercity bus
Travels between cities across the country, departing from intercity bus terminals.

💡 Don't worry about memorizing them all — for everyday travel in a city, the 시내버스 (city bus) is what you'll ride most. Pay with a T-money card and tap on and off. 💛
