🚏 Korean Phrases for Riding the Bus 🇰🇷
Riding a city bus in Korea is simple, and a few Korean phrases make it stress-free. You wait at the 버스 정류장 (beo-seu jeong-ryu-jang) — "bus stop" — and tap your T-money card when you get on and off.
🗣️ Is this the right bus?
이 버스 ○○ 가요?
(i beo-seu ○○ ga-yo)
→ "Does this bus go to ○○?"
Just put your destination in the blank.
🗣️ Not sure where to get off?
어디서 내려요?
(eo-di-seo nae-ryo-yo)
→ "Where do I get off?"
🗣️ Your stop is coming up
여기서 내릴게요
(yeo-gi-seo nae-ril-ge-yo)
→ "I'll get off here."
Pressing the stop button (벨, bel) also signals the driver.
🗣️ Changing buses or to the subway?
환승돼요?
(hwan-seung-dwae-yo)
→ "Can I transfer?"
With a T-money card, transfers within the time limit are usually discounted automatically.
