🆘 When You Feel Stuck in Korea: 5 Phrases 🇰🇷
Korea can feel fast — people speak quickly, signs are unfamiliar, and small misunderstandings happen. When you feel stuck, these five short Korean phrases help you stay calm and keep the conversation going.

1️⃣ I'm sorry

죄송합니다 (joe-song-ham-ni-da) → "I'm sorry."
The polite, all-purpose apology. Use it with anyone — especially strangers and people older than you — after a small mistake or to politely interrupt.

2️⃣ It's okay

괜찮아요 (gwaen-chan-a-yo) → "It's okay."
A warm reply when someone apologizes to you. With a rising tone — 괜찮아요? — it also means "Are you okay?"

3️⃣ Please say that again

다시 말해 주세요 (da-si mal-hae ju-se-yo) → "Please say that again."
Perfect when Korean was spoken too fast and you didn't catch it. Politely buys you another chance.

4️⃣ Please speak slowly

천천히 말해 주세요 (cheon-cheon-hi mal-hae ju-se-yo) → "Please speak slowly."
Useful when the speaker is going at full speed (빨리빨리!) and you need them to slow down so you can follow.

5️⃣ I'm not sure

모르겠어요 (jal mo-reu-ge-sseo-yo) → "I'm not sure" / "I don't know."
Honest and polite — better than nodding through something you didn't understand. Locals usually respond by helping or explaining differently.

💡 Say them calmly and with a small nod. Koreans value sincerity over perfect grammar — these five phrases will carry you through most "stuck" moments. 💛
